The WRC flies to Africa for the third round of the 2024 season, for the famous Safari Rally in Kenya. This time next week, we will be waiting to see who will come out of Hell's Gate victorious, and what effect that will have on the championship's standings. Unfortunately, behind the scenes, "Hell's Gate" would be a fitting description of what's been happening behind the scenes leading up to the event.  Kenyan journalist Saddique Shaban has been shedding light on what the situation is like in Kenya, with the Safari Rally suffering from corruption allegations and mismanagement, that led to the event being massively behind schedule, with the Kenyan event still not 100% ready to host the rally, with the rally's start being just 3 days away! Τα  remote service είναι αυτό που καταλαβαίνετε. Ένας χώρος μακριά από το κεντρικό service park στον οποίο οι ομάδες θα μπορούν να κάνουν σέρβις μέσα στη μέρα. Αυτό δίνει την ευκαιρία στην οργάνωση του κάθε αγώνα να  χρησιμοποιήσει ειδικές διαδρομές πολύ πιο μακρία απ΄ό ΄ότι πιο πριν, καθώς τα αυτοκίνητα δεν χρείαζεται να γυρίσουν πίσω στο  service park μέσα στη μέρα, μείωνοντας έτσι τις "απλές" διαδρομές. Αυτός ο κανονισμός είναι ιδιαίτερα ευνοϊκός για τον Εθνικό μας αγώνα. Τις δύο τελευταίες σεζόν που τα remote service χρησιμοποιήθηκαν στο WRC, το Ακρόπολις που είχε την βάση του στο Λουτράκι, μπόρεσε να φτάσει μέχρι το Ελευθεροχώρι και την Ελάτεια το 2011 με ένα remote service στα Καμένα Βούρλα. The WRC will be returning to Spain after a two year's absence, in a new location, with the Canary Islands being set to host a WRC event for the first time. The Gran Canaria island has been host of the Rally Islas Canarias (formerly known as Rally El Corte Inglés), an event that's been a staple of the ERC calendar, having featured in the championship since the early 80s. But how would a WRC event in the Canaries look like, and what does the WRC gain by visiting the island chain in the Atlantic? What makes Rally Islas Canarias unique? I don't know how many of you know the Beatles song, "The Long And Winding Road", but it perfectly describes how the tarmac stages in Gran Canaria are like. The stages on the island are fast and flowing, with many, having cambered turns, like Rally New Zealand but on tarmac. Another feature of this event are the amazing backdrops it offers.
